Mr. Gruber established United Financial of Illinois, Inc. ("UFI") in 1986 to provide equipment acquisition financing services to municipal and federal government organizations. UFI supports essential purpose governmental equipment acquisitions, involving a diverse array of federal, state and municipal government enterprises including military and medical facilities, legislative and judicial facilities, postal facilities, transportation authorities, housing authorities, school districts and more.
Prior to starting United Financial, Mr. Gruber was employed as Vice President/Regional Operations Manager for Chase Manhattan Equipment Leasing Company and was responsible for new business development, management and control of a $250 million regional portfolio. In addition he was accountable for marketing research and development, and training and sales support for a regional sales force. Mr. Gruber also previously held positions as Regional Credit Manager with Citicorp Leasing, Inc. in New Jersey and was a Risk Analyst for Foreign Credit Insurance Association in New York, an affiliate of the U.S. Export/Import Bank. He graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Business Administration.
Bob AglerSenior Vice President - General Counsel
Mr. Agler is responsible for the management of corporate legal and documentation matters, including contract development and negotiations, collections, litigation, and compliance. He brings over 20 years of experience in the field of corporate and commercial finance. Prior to joining UFI, Mr. Agler held the positions of Group Chief Counsel of the Healthcare Finance Division at CIT Group, Inc. and Director and Senior Transactional Attorney, Corporate Finance Group at Merrill Lynch Capital. Most recently he served as Senior Counsel at GE Capital. He received his J.D. Cum Laude from the University of Missouri and earned an Artium Baccalaureatus (A.B.) from Dartmouth College.
Susan DillonBusiness Office Manager
Ms. Dillon is responsible for organizing and coordinating office operations, procedures, and human resources. This includes planning, implementing, and evaluating employee benefits and HR policies and practices. Ms. Dillon brings over 20 years of administrative experience, directing executive-level administrative affairs and providing support to senior management. Prior to joining United Financial, Ms. Dillon held Senior Executive Assistant positions at American Hardware Manufacturers Association and most recently at Experian, Schaumburg, IL. She holds an Associate’s Degree at Harper College.
James B. GruberVice President – Contracts
James Gruber is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of transaction documentation, internal accounting and payroll, database entry and management of deposits. He has over 25 years of experience in commercial, municipal and federal finance and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ramapo College.
Peter SkibinskiBusiness Analyst
Mr. Skibinski is responsible for managing the company's IT systems and infrastructure. This includes analyzing and assessing business processes and needs, identifying and pairing technological resources with those needs, and managing the deployment and integration of information technology solutions to enhance efficiencies and services. Mr. Skibinski has been with the Company since obtaining a BBA from Loyola University, Chicago, in 2004.
Alan R. RiefenbergVice President – Sales
Mr. Riefenberg is responsible for the origination, management and maintenance of contractor and direct customer relationships, and the structuring of federal, municipal, and commercial energy projects. He has served in corporate and investment banking structured finance since 1987 and has been with United Financial since 1992. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago
Craig RaddatzVice President of Sales
Mr. Raddatz is responsible for the origination, management and maintenance of vendor and direct customer relationships as well as the structuring of federal, municipal and commercial finance projects and equipment. He has over 25 years experience in structuring transaction financial solutions and contractor finance programs for energy services projects, renewable energy, healthcare and manufacturing. Prior to joining UFI, he held various Vice President level positions at The CIT Group, GE Capital, Heller Financial Services, DVI Financial Services and US Leasing. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, and a minor in Finance.
Ms. Crews is responsible for the administration of archival and active credit documentation, including industry and equipment analysis, Contractor Program Reviews, and individual Transaction Reviews. Her duties include financial spreadsheet preparation and analysis, equipment and market analysis, and contractor program and transaction risk analysis. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and is currently pursuing an MBA degree from Northern Illinois University. Sara has been with UFI since May 2016.
